Letter From Our Pastors
I want to take a few moments to speak to you during this unprecedented and constantly evolving situation that we find ourselves in. As a team, we are in constant talks about how to effectively continue to lead our church through these uncharted waters and continue to fulfill the vision of helping people move from where they are to where God wants them to be. I want you to know that our mission hasn’t changed and our commitment to help people know God, find freedom, discover purpose and make a difference is as strong as ever!
We are retooling everything we do to minister to make sure it exists in a way you can access it wherever you are. Our top priorities are making Sundays an environment for you to grow in your faith and be confident to invite friends to attend with you. Connect Groups will also continue to be the place for you to go to develop friendships and grow. We are working on ways to provide resources for you to take next steps in your faith in an online platform and creatively thinking of ways for you to find fulfillment through serving others.
Obviously, the way in which we do things is going to be different. For some of you, you embrace change very quickly. For others, change is something you naturally resist. We want to make sure that you understand that as our world has changed, we are going to have to find a new normal to make sure we are healthy and growing in our faith and in community with one another.
So here is what we are going to do:
WE’RE GOING TO PRAY
This virus is effecting not only the health of many but our economy, our businesses, our churches and even our relationships. Let’s pray for our governing authorities as they lead us and make decisions in the days to come. Let’s pray for our doctors and hospitals as they serve the sick. Let’s pray for both protection and quick passing of this virus. Opportunities for prayer are going to be coming your way to help resource you in this area.
WE’RE GOING TO GATHER
With schools closed and the officials asking for us to not gather in groups over 10, the typical way we’ve met as a church won’t work. However, we will be taking everything online with our worship experience. Our teams have been working hard this week to prepare an amazing experience for you this Sunday that will include TurningPoint worship and preaching. Online services are going to happen at our regular service times of 9:30am and 11:15am. So attend your normal service and invite others to attend with you.
All our Connect Groups will also be going online via video google hangouts beginning March 23, 2020. This is going to be an important step that I want all of you to take. As social distancing measures increase our need for community is going to increase. Don’t push this off thinking that you will wait until this passes over and then you will get into something that’s in person. We don’t know how long that life will be affected by social distancing measures and it is pivotal that you participate in these online groups to stay connected and grow. You are going to be pleasantly surprised and what God is going to do in our online groups!
WE’RE GOING TO SERVE
Whether it be the people that attend regularly or anyone else in the community, we’re here to meet the needs of others whether they be spiritual, physical, or emotional. If you have a need, let us know! We’d love to help. If you’d like to be a part of meeting the needs of others, let us know and we’ll keep you informed as opportunities may arise! We are creativity thinking of ways in which you can find fulfillment through impacting the lives of others in this season. Making a difference isn’t just something we do it’s a part of who we are as a church family.
Let us know if you want help finding a place to serve.
WE’RE GOING TO GIVE
In order for us to meet the needs both inside the TurningPoint Family and around our community, it’s going to take resources. We’re going to continue to give financially. Thank you for your continued generosity that paves the way for others to see the light of Jesus through TurningPoint! Your continued giving will enable us to continue to operate the church, resource ministry partners, and meet needs as they arise. If you normally give in person through check or cash and need assistance in learning how to give by mail or our online giving options, let us know so we can equip you.
No matter what the days and weeks ahead hold, we do know who’s in charge and trust that He’s working it all together for our good. With that in mind we believe that our best and brightest days are still ahead! I believe that in this season we are going to thrive and reach people we’ve never reached before with the message of the gospel. Together we are going to help people move from where they are to where God wants them to be.
